Orange Tofu
Ingredients
- 2 14 oz Extra Firm Tofu
- 1 Tablespoon Avocado/Olive Oil
- 1 Tablespoon Tamari
- 3 Tablespoons Cornstarch
- 2 Tsp Sesame Oil
- 1/2 inch ginger, grated
- 1/2 Tbsp red chili flakes
- 1 Cup Orange Juice
- 1/3 Cup Brown Sugar
- 1/4 Cup Tamari
- 3 Tbsp Vinegar
- Orange Zest
- 1 Tbsp Cornstarch
Steps
- Preheat oven to 425°F
- Cut the tofu into 1 inch cubes
- Add tofu to medium bowl, toss with tamari and avocado oil.
- Add cornstarch on top and toss again.
- Bake on tray with parchment paper for ~30 minutes, flipping half way through.
- Once tofu is cooking, add sesame oil to a medium pan. Set to medium heat.
- Once warm, add garlic, ginger, and red chili flakes.
- Saute until fragrent, then add orange juice, brown sugar, tamari, vinegar, and orange zest.
- Bring to a simmer, then continue cooking until it starts to thicken.
- Optionally add cornstarch to thicken as needed, or water to thin.
- Once ready, remove tofu from the oven and toss in a bowl with the orange sauce.
